Game Seven-- Saturday July 26th 7pm at the Cobras Hinkley Field
With only 20 players able to show up to face the Flames, things looked bleak. However, the Wranglers played their hearts out and fought hard to try and pull off the upset of the season, and it just about happened. The Wranglers had two TDs called back on unfortunate penalties and one of those flags should not have been thrown (admits the Referees). RB CJ Flood broke off a 55 yard romp through the Flames D running over and through a few players, only to have it called back for a clipping call.
The Wranglers scoring came on a TD pass from #12 Joe McKinney to #19 Bryant Lawson and then in the 4th Quarter CJ Flood fumbled the ball into the waiting arms of #13 Will Edwards. The Wranglers O continues to gain momentum and confidence with each passing week.
The Flames were able to ground and pound the ball and utilized the scrambeling ability of their shifty QB to get into scoring positions. The Wranglers would like to thank the Flames for a very clean and fun game.
Next up, the Cobras. The Cobras have a very stingy D so we will see if the Wranglers O can keep it on track. Look for the Cobras to try and balance things out. The Wranglers D is always up to the challenge. Should be another hard fought game.
